What We Do

What We Do

Our Podiatrist in Townsville, Hayley Paterson is here to keep you moving! With 20 years' experience we are leaders in our field of Biomechanical/ Musculoskeletal Podiatry.

At Foundation Podiatry your Initial Biomechanical Assessment will start with a medical, occupational and exercise history. This is followed by a footwear check and a thorough posture, balance, movement and gait assessment by our foot specialists. Rather than just treating the symptoms, we undertake a thorough initial assessment to understand the true cause of your problem. Your treatment is then tailored individually to you.

Traditionally when it comes to Podiatry for musculoskeletal pain, people think that the only treatment option will be orthotics.

At Foundation Podiatry we utilise a wide range of hands-on treatment options such as Shockwave therapy, Prolotherapy InjectionsMedical Acupuncture, gait re-education, load management principles and mobility, balance & strength exercises. We find these techniques highly effective in reducing foot ache and foot pain, while assisting with tissue healing and restoring optimal function.

So, whether you’re an elite athlete, weekend warrior or just want to be able to play with the grandkids, our foot specialists have the skills and experience to help you!

Do you have constant foot pain and ache? BOOK NOW with our expert Podiatrist.

Custom Foot Orthoses

Foot orthoses are a device placed inside your shoe to provide cushioning and support to relieve pain. IF orthoses are required, we use a 3D scan of your feet and information gathered from your Biomechanical assessment to customise your orthoses to your individual presentation. 100% custom-made allows us to have the appropriate amount of cushioning, flexibility and support. We use different materials (cushioned rubber & 3D-printed nylon) and can fit many more shoe options than previously. Our Podiatrists make gait plates for tip-toe or pigeon toe gait, heel raises for shoes and adjust orthoses, replace covers etc. in our in-house lab.
